Chris Attwood has had a busy lacrosse career. From the Canadian Lacrosse League to Jr B, he has always found a way to be an impact. Now he leads his team to the President’s Cup.Last season Attwood saw limited time with the Colorado Mammoth of the NLL, but he has already proven to be a Canadian Lacrosse star winning the CLax MVP in 2012.
His Sr B St. Catharines Saints just swept the Six Nations Rivermen and are heading to the President’s Cup. Attwood led his team in scoring the entire series. “The series was very tough against the Rivermen they have a lot of great players.” said Attwood. “And we knew coming in it wasn’t going to be easy but we just took it one game at a time and played the way we could.”
The Saints won their last game just 10-9, but Attwood is the top playoff scorer with 29 points in all. Now, the club heads for the Sr B championship, the President’s Cup.
“There’s always gonna be huge challenges to going to a national championship such as the Presidents Cup.” says Attwood. “Playing seven games in seven days will be one of the biggest challenges I would think for all teams that’s a lot of lacrosse to be played in one week.”
The President’s Cup is being hosted by the QSLL champion Kahnawake Mohawks and the Saints open their series against the Alberta winner on August 26th.
