This past weekend we had two fantastic playoff games, just a shame we have to have a loser in each. In the first game, the Rochester Rattlers used a six-goal run to come away with a 15-11 victory over the Ohio Machine. Notice to all MLL, Ohio is for real!!
The second game had the Denver Outlaws win in the final 15 seconds by a score of 14-13 with the game winner coming from Jeremy Sieverts. These teams ended the regular season with a one goal OT win going to the Lizards.
This weekend the Rattlers and Outlaws will play for it all. Last time they met for the title, the Rattlers cruised to a 16-6 win.
This week’s Three Stars:
1(tie)—Kevin Leveille (ROC) Leville led the Rattlers to the Championship game by scoring six times, three of which came in the final 15 minutes. Leveille took seven shots—six of them were not only on goal, but went in as well. Leveille also had one ground ball, and was at the beginning end of a number of other goals.
1(tie)—John Grant Jr (DEN) Grant tallied four goals and three assists. His final two assists tied and won the game. His four goals were of typical Grant fashion. With Grant just being on the field it draws attention. If anyone believes he lost a step, you better think twice. Grant will definitely be on a watch this weekend.
2—Jordan Wolf (ROC) Wolf registered three goals and two assists in the Rattlers semi-final victory over the Machine. Wolf carried over his stellar play from the regular season. In his rookie year, Wolf has played seven regular season games and scored 21 goals and 12 assists.
3—Jeremy Sieverts (DEN) Sieverts was the bookends to the scoring. He started the game off with the first goal, and won it with the final goal on a beautiful pass from John Grant Jr. Sieverts and Grant seemed to work very well together. We shall see what game plan Denver will install for these two.
