The fall ball season is well underway and there’s still a lot of fall left tell the first snow and the end of the fall season.
This will be another big week in the college fall scrimmage and tournament tours. The two big Classics/ Series are the Nicholas Colleluori Fall Classic and the Play for Parkinson’s Series. The Colleluori Classic will be held at Ridley High School in Folsom, PA. The Classic will pit a number of Big East teams against each other. The teams include Saint Joseph’s, Monmouth, Lafayette, the Virginia Military Institute, Hofstra, Binghamton. and Villanova. Games will be starting on Saturday 5 October, at 1pm with Saint Joseph’s taking on Monmouth and Lafayette going up against VMI.
The Play for Parkinson’s Series will be taking place at the Episcopal School in Alexandria, VA. Teams attending the Series include Air Force, Loyola, Towson, Georgetown, both of the USA practice teams (split into White and Blue), and hometown Richmond. Games get started at 10am with Air Force vs. Loyola and Richmond vs. Towson. Team USA will have an inter-squad scrimmage at 4pm. All of the games will be on Saturday 5 October.
Also on Saturday Navy will travel to UMBC to take on the Retrievers at noon. The game will be at UMBC Stadium in Catonsville, MD.
On Sunday 6 October the rivalry between Michigan and Notre Dame is going to be renewed. The Wolverines will be heading to South Bend, IN to take the Irish on at 2pm.
The fall season is a great time to see some of what teams may be able to bring in the spring, plus it’s just a great time to get out in the lacrosse community and have some fun.
