Towson is ranked 15th in the country after starting the year off with a big win over Johns Hopkins. Going into Friday’s game, the Tigers were 2-1 and taking on Mount Saint Mary’s who was 1-1. Towson got a big game out of fifth year senior Andrew Hodgson who had three points (1G 2A) sophomore Joe Seider added to his nine points on the season to twelve after scoring three goals vs. Mount Saint Mary’s and is leading the team in points. Spencer Parks had two big goals in the close contest while senior goalie Tyler White made nineteen saves the most he has made in the first four games.
Justin Gosnell had the lone multi point game for Mount Saint Mary’s and had his first of the season with two goals. Evan Gormley and Bubba Johnson had the other goals for their team. None of Mount Saint Mary’s goals were assisted in the Towson 7-4 win. Freshman goalie Matt Vierheller made seventeen saves the young net minder played a great game for his team.
After Bubba Johnson started the game off with its first goal, Towson’s Joe Sieder evened things up ten minuets later after getting the pass from Andrew Hodgson. The second quarter saw teams trading off goals again with Spencer Parks scoring the second goal for Towson after Hodgson gets his second asset. In the third is where the scoring opened up and Towson took over. Spencer Park got his second goal before Evan Gormley got Mount Saint Mary’s another goal.
Hodgson ended off the scoring with his first goal and third point of the game. In the fourth Ryan Drenner and Joe Sieder got the sixth and seventh goals to get their team the 7-4 win and move the teams record to 3-1.
