The Nanaimo Timbermen have been looking for a head coach, and now they are bringing in one of the best Canadian lacrosse players of all time to do it. Former Calgary Roughnecks forward Kaleb Toth will be the bench boss for the 2013 WLA season.
Toth spent eight seasons as a member of the Timbermen’s roster as well. The Timbermen have not made the playoffs since 2007, and their former head coach Art Webster stepped down after last season when the finished in sixth place.
Toth won three NLL championships in his pro career with the Toronto Rock and the Roughnecks. He has also won two Mann Cups and a Minto Cup with the Burnaby Lakers. Toth had spent his WLA career with Victoria before he was drafted to the Timbermen in the 2005 expansion draft.
Toth had 716 points in his NLL career and 71 points in the playoffs. Toth recently retired from the NLL before this season after spending the last few seasons in Calgary as a Calgary native.
