As the MLL draft inches nearer, we will begin to take a look at the top prospects in each position, and where they might end up. Today we take a look at the attackers.
Peter Baum, Colgate
Baum, Manny and Sawyer all could be top three picks. Any one of them, but Baum is projected as the top overall pick to Ohio according to our MLL expert Phil Shore. Baum could step in right away and be an impact player for an Ohio team that could use a stud next to Steele Stanwick.
Zach Palmer, Johns Hopkins
Palmer could be a player we see in some later rounds with a team like Boston or Long Island looking for a depth move. Last season he led the team in points and is heading into his senior season. A smaller attackman, he is good at dodging and has terrific speed.
Mike Sawyer, Loyola
Shore has Sawyer ending up with the Denver Outlaws. He scored 52 goals as a senior and Denver likes to move their offensive players all over the field, so it could be nice to add another potential top scorer.
Will Manny, Massachusetts
Manny could end up as a top three pick and Shore has him going to Chesapeake. I could also see him ending up in Charlotte after they lost two attackmen this off season. The UMass star could add some youth to Chesapeake if he ends up falling to the fourth overall pick.
Marcus Holman, North Carolina
Shore has Holman projected as fifth overall to Long Island. The Tar Heels star led the team in scoring last season and could add some nice depth as the Lizards also expect to get Rob Pannell in action this season.
