Toronto Rock General Manager Terry Sanderson has announced a trade as today’s league deadline passed at 3pm ET. Toronto has acquired goaltender Brandon Miller from the Philadelphia Wings in exchange for transition player Kyle Belton, a conditional 2nd Round pick in the 2014 NLL Draft and Toronto’s 4th Round pick in the 2014 NLL Draft.
“We now have one of the best goaltending tandems in the NLL,” said Sanderson. “We would like to thank Kyle for his two seasons of contributions to the Rock and wish him the best of luck in the future.”
Miller is in his 14th NLL season and it was his 6th season with Philadelphia. He’s also had career stops in Albany, San Jose and Chicago. The 34-year old native of Orangeville, Ontario had appeared in just 3 games this season and has an 0-3 record with a goals against average of 13.80 and a save percentage of .689. His career GAA is 12.23 and SP% is .759.
Miller’s Junior A career was spent with his hometown Northmen and played in the 2000 Minto Cup Canadian Junior A championships falling to the Burnaby Lakers. This past summer he won the Mann Cup Canadian Senior “A” championship with the Six Nations Chiefs alongside current Rock players Colin Doyle, Rob Marshall, Jesse Gamble and Kasey Beirnes.
