The Durham TurfDogs are pleased to announce Dave Colbourne as their new General Manager for the 2014 Season. The team would like to thank Jonas Derks for the work that he has done over the past two seasons. They wish Jonas all the best in his future and his continued involvement with Oshawa Minor Lacrosse.
Dave Colbourne spent last season as Vice President/Assistant General Manager of the Niagara Lock Monsters where he helped to lead the team to a first place finish in their inaugural season. Colbourne brings over 30 years of experience as a player, coach, and current Owner/General Manager of the 2013 President’s Cup Champion St. Catharines Saints.
Over Colbourne’s executive career he has been associated with four league titles, 13 playoff appearances, bronze, silver, and gold medals at the Canadian National Championships, and has a combined regular season record of 103 wins and 55 losses.
Most recently, Colbourne helped guide the St. Catharines Saints Sr. B team to the 2013 President’s Cup Championship. The Saints are also the reigning Ontario Sr. B champions for 2011, 2012, and 2013, and have continued on to the Canadian National Championship President’s Cup for three consecutive years.
Dave Colbourne said, “It is an honour to be named General Manager of this great organization. This is a tremendous opportunity, and it is a role I have worked towards over my entire executive career. Durham is an incredible lacrosse community and this is a very talented team. I’m looking forward to bringing a Creator’s Cup home to TurfDog fans.”
