This afternoon US Lacrosse reached out to ILWT regarding their tryout process.
After a great initial evaluation weekend in Rahway with approximately 25 guys, the U.S. coaching staff decided this morning to cancel the second evaluation weekend (this upcoming weekend). Reason being, due to numerous conflicts including NLL training camp (with some late schedule changes there), only 12 players of the 40+ player pool would have been able to attend.
We are working with Tony Resch and staff to finalize their selection process, which looks like it will include in-season NLL evaluation before a final team is selected next summer. Looking back at last weekend, the two-day training served as what will amount to an evaluation opportunity with the new coaching staff.
As that selection process materializes in the coming weeks, I’ll be happy to share it with you in more detail.
