The Vermont Voyageurs have signed NLL player Chris McElroy for their final games of the season.The Voyageurs, 2-8 on the season in the Quebec Senior Lacrosse League, signed McElroy who plays for the Vancouver Stealth in the National Lacrosse League. He has played in the NLL for eight seasons.
McElroy used to play with the Edmonton Rush and was named the Western Division all star team captain in 2008. He played with the Rush for five seasons.
The eight year NLL veteran has 42 career points in 97 games along with 361 loose balls. The Voyageurs are in last place in the QSLL and have four games remaining- a weekend double header with the Kahnawake Mohawks this week, and next week two games against the Snake Island Muskies.
McElroy joins a solid group of NLL players in the QSLL, including Brodie Merrill, Callum Crawford and Josh Sanderson, and on his own team in Vermont, Ethan Farrell.
