Colorado’s Dillon Ward backstopped the Mammoth to a 10-8 victory over Edmonton, handing the Rush their first loss of the 2014 season. Ward turned aside 42 of 50 shots en route to earning the MVP nod in the victory, including a 15 save fourth quarter to preserve the win.
Logan Schuss was named game MVP in Minnesota’s 10-9 defeat of the Buffalo Bandits after a six point performance (4 G, 2 A). The two-time reigning NLL Rookie of the Month netted the game-winner for the Swarm with just under five minutes remaining in regulation.
Mitch Wilde had a stellar showing in a loss for the Bandits, posting three points (1 G, 2 A) along with seven loose balls and two forced turnovers.
After being held scoreless for just the third time in his young career in the loss to Colorado, Rush rookie Riley Loewen finished with four points (3 G, 1 A) in a 15-11 win over the Calgary Roughnecks.
Robert Church added six points (2 G, 4 A) versus Edmonton’s in-province rivals, bringing his point total for the weekend to nine (3 G, 6 A). The Drexel University alum now has 45 points (17 G, 28 A) in 15 appearances for the league-leading Rush.
Tyler Digby had three points (1 G, 2 A) for the Vancouver Stealth in a 10-7 loss to the Rochester Knighthawks. The CFL prospect continues to trail Rhysh Duch for the Vancouver offensive lead with 52 points (20 G, 32 A).
Vancouver defender Nick Weiss had six loose balls and one forced turnover, while Chris Wardle failed to record a point in his first appearance in the Stealth lineup since mid-February.
In other rookie news, Toronto rookie Ethan O’Connor scooped up seven loose balls in the Rock’s 10-9 win over Philadelphia adding to his team leading total of 120, while Garret Thul finished with two points (1 G, 1 A) in the loss for the Wings.
