The Six Nations Chiefs (3-4) will look to end a rare two-game losing streak with a pair of games on their weekend schedule.
The Chiefs, who have not suffered consecutive losses since 2011, have gone 1-3 over their last four games including a 15-9 Thursday night loss to the Peterborough Lakers.
Six Nations will host the Oakville Rock (1-3) at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena Saturday night at 7 pm, before travelling to Kitchener-Waterloo (3-2) for a Sunday battle with the Kodiaks. The last action for both Oakville and K-W was a meeting between the two, with the Kodiaks emerging with an 8-7 overtime win.
The Rock were victorious over the Chiefs in Week 3 action, earning a 13-11 victory on home floor. After making a favourable first impression in his debut versus Six Nations posting six points, reigning MSL Rookie of the Week Patrick Corbett has continued his seamless transition into Senior A with 12 points (7 G, 5 A) in three games. Corbett highlights a young Rock group that has meshed well with more experienced leaders such as Stephan Leblanc (7 G, 7 A) and Jordan Macintosh (4 G, 7 A).
Oakville recently added to their fountain of youthas Jeremy Noble (4 A) and Jacob Ruest (1 G, 2 A) both made their first appearance of the season in the loss to K-W.
Six Nations and K-W previously met in a June 1 game that saw the Kodiaks upset the Chiefs 11-7. K-W has benefitted from a trio of Buffalo Bandits, as Ryan Benesch (12 G, 14 A, 26 PTS), Dhane Smith (10 G, 11 A, 21 PTS), and Jamie Rooney (7 G, 8 A, 15 PTS) have led the Kodiaks offensively.
Six Nations’ recent loss to Peterborough marked just the third time Cody Jamieson has been held pointless in his MSL career. Jeff Shattler, who has proven a key addition the an already talented Six Nations squad, led all Chiefs scorers with a hat-trick and two assists for five points. Roger Vyse added four helpers, bringing his league-leading assist totals to 20 in six games.
