New England professional lacrosse has taken a hit in the past few days as Black Wolves transition man Andrew Suitor tore his ACL. Things got even worse today when the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse announced that Will Manny will miss the next two weeks with a hand injury.
Taking his roster spot was taken by defenseman Mitch Belisle, who is presumed likely to play for the Cannons with the Minnesota Swarm eliminated from NLL playoff contention and the team in their last week.
The Cannons are 1-1 on the season and are coming off of an OT loss to the Charlotte Hounds at home. Boston’s offense has taken a new look since they traded away Paul Rabil, and Manny has become one of the leaders on offense and a team captain.
Manny was tied for second on the team with five points along with Rob Emery. Leading the team with six is Davey Emala in his first year with the team.
