Wings Acquire Kevin Croswell

The Philadelphia Wings have acquired goaltender Kevin Croswell from the Washington Stealth for a third round pick according to the team.

Croswell was a backup goalie with Minnesota before being traded to Edmonton before last season, but he didn’t see any time and was shipped to Washington. He made two starts and played very well for them.

The Stealth had three ‘tenders in camp competing for the backup spot; Croswell, Chris Seidel and Nick Patterson. With Croswell gone and Seidel cut earlier today, it seems like the former Swarm starter Patterson has made the cut.

Meanwhile for Philadelphia, this could mean the end for Steve Fryer as Brandon Miller’s backup. The Wings invited a lot of goaltenders to camp as well, but it is hard to envision one of them making it instead of Croswell at this point.
