The Shamrocks season has been dominant while the Adanacs and Bellies have struggled, but three stars this week played for all of those teams.
First Star
Jesse King
After helping keep the Shamrocks (8-0-1) as the only undefeated team in the WLA, a 7pt (5g,2a) performance vs the ‘Bellies and a 4pt (2g,2a) vs the Burrards, earned Jesse King the first star for a team that has been rolling on all cylinders since the start of the season.
Second Star
Matthew Dinsdale
Dinsdale continues his consistent play this summer, he helped the Adanacs (3-5) get their first road win of the season in a 3pt (2g,1a) effort vs the Timbermen and also had a strong 1pt (1a) performance to keep the Adanacs in the hunt for a playoff spot with sole possession of 5th place going into this weekend.
Third Star
Jordan McBride
Although the ‘Bellies (2-6) are struggling this season, McBride continues to show the team is still able to be competitive on any night with 3pts (1g,2a) in a loss to the ‘Rocks and 5pts (3g,2a) in another loss to the Timberman. McBride’s consistent play all season earned him the third star of last week.
Honorable Mention
Andrew Murphy
For a strong Maple Ridge (5-5) team, Andrew Murphy played to keep his team locked in second place. With a 3 pt (2g,1a) showing in a loss to the undefeated ‘Rocks and 2pts (1g,1a) in another loss to the Lakers, Murphy showed heart the entire time and kept energy up on a losing weekend for a strong team.
Goalie of the Week
Brodie MacDonald
For the goalie who has seen the majority of minutes for the Thunder (5-5) Brodie (also 5-5) has went 2-1 in his last 3 games to keep the Thunder in a hunt for a playoff spot and a strong 8.22 GAA for the season to go with it. If he keeps playing consistently his job is secure and so should another post season birth for the Thunder as well.
