Wolves Take ELL Championship

The Radotin Wolves took home the European Lacrosse League title with their championship game win over Deutschland Adler earlier today.

The Wolves were the regular season champions and defeated Pietro Filipi to advance earlier in the day, while the German team Adler defeated the Custodes. The Wolves scored just one goal in the third period but were still able to pull out the 9-8 victory.

Leading Radotin was Jiri Kostal, Phillipp Broz and Matej Barak with two goals while they got single goal performances from Jiri Loskot, Martin Sruta and Martin Hoden. For Adler, they got a three goal performance from Jamie Plunkett but their other big scorer, Brian Tyacke, could only net one.

The Wolves shot 43 times in the game to the 33 from Deutschland. Jakub Mares made 22 saves for the Wolves while Tomas Cekel made 30 in the losing effort for Adler.

Other than the first tournament, where they finished in last, the Wolves have been the top team all season long and them taking home the title is fitting. To do it, they defeated the defending champion Deutschland Adler. In Lacrosse We Trust congratulates the Wolves, and the rest of the ELL, on a great season.
