The European Lacrosse League kicked off their 2014 season this weekend with the Radotin Wolves taking a victory in the first tournament. The defending champions have a much different roster this season, adding former Custodes star Radek Skala.
In the first game Skala led the Wolves against his old team as they won 13-9. Skala scored five times while Tomas Jeck scored three. Jakub Mares and Philip Hladky combined for 37 saves in the victory.
Radotin also defeated Pietro Filipi with six more goals from Skala, 15-5. Lastly, they defeated Duetchsland Adler 10-5.
Duetchland came in second place going 2-1 while the Custodes went 1-2 and Pietro Filipi lost all three of their contests. Skala from the Wolves leads the league with his 24 points in three games.
Pavel Dosley from Duetschland was next best with 19, and tied for third place with 18 are his team mates Brian Tyacke and Jamie Plunkett. The Custodes leading scorer was Tomas Prochazka with with 16 and for Pietro Filipi, Klaus Hauer with five.
Mares put up the best save percentage at 84%. Behind him at 77% was Bjorn Lohrenz of Pietro Filipi.
The second tournament of the season takes place on October 4th.
