MLL: Bayhawks snuff out Blaze

Despite an early second-quarter lead by Atlanta, the Chesapeake Bayhawks defeated the Blaze 9-6 on Saturday night at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in a chippy game that almost had a few fights break out. The Ohio Machine was effectively shut down 13-8 by the Chesapeake Bayhawks on Saturday in a game that was not close until the fourth quarter. Chesapeake had three quarters of solid play before the rain came. Ohio tried to create a different outcome as Chesapeake held a commanding 11-2 lead before Ohio started tallying goals in the fourth quarter. WPLL: Brave extinguish Fire in inaugural game

The Baltimore Brave defeated the Philadelphia Fire in the inaugural game of the Women’s Professional Lacrosse League on Saturday afternoon prior to the Chesapeake Bayhawks’ game at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. The Fire scored several goals late in the fourth quarter, however, they were not enough to secure the win as Baltimore scorched Philadelphia 20-12. The NCAA men’s division one semifinal games are set for next weekend following a great weekend of quarter final action. Just four teams are left to compete for the national championship.
