The Baltimore Indoor Lacrosse League began its season last night with two games on tap. The Rebel club defeated Ensure Productivity (formerly known as Viper) while Parrot took the contest over First Mariner.
In game one, Parrot won a close contest with a score of 9-5 led by three goals from Matt Hickman and two from Jeff Joy. Joe Fletcher, a defenseman out of Loyola, actually scored two goals in the loss. Loyola goaltender Jack Runkel made nine saves while Brian Kusterer made six to combine for 15 saves in the loss. Adam Miller made 24.
The Ensure Productivity team was making their debut, and it did not end well for the new team. They fell 12-5 at the hands of five goals from Garrett Ince and two from the Florida Launch’s Jordan Hall. Ben Hunt and Julian Maliszewski each added a goal. Ginny Capicchioni made 12 saves in the victory.
Tyler Midwinter was the most productive player with Ensure Productivity, scoring three times to lead the effort. Matthew Gregoire and Luke Pellizzi had a goal a piece. Patrick Crosby made 35 saves.
Next week Ensure Productivity takes on Parrot and First Mariner clashes with Rebel.
