Black Wolves Extend Offer Sheet to Stephen Keogh

The New England Black Wolves have extended an offer sheet to restricted free agent Stephen Keogh, according to a tweet from the National Lacrosse League. Keogh has been a member of the Rochester Knighthawks since he was drafted.

The Knighthawks have 72 hours to match the offer of the Black Wolves, the terms of which were not and will not be made public. This would be a huge blow for Rochester, as they have already traded away Johnny Powless this month. If the Knighthawks do not match the offer, Keogh, as a restricted free agent, will have to sign in New England.

The Black Wolves have made noise this off season by signing unrestricted free agent Brett Bucktooth away from Vancouver and they also traded for Jamie Lincoln, Mike Burke, and Mike McNamara, who is also an RFA. They also acquired several draft picks to restock their roster, signing all of them thus far other than their top pick, Mark Cockerton.

Keogh is a righty forward and the Wolves already have a lot of depth there after trading for Jay Card from Minnesota, but Ryan Ward might not be returning. This would make Keogh one of the top forwards on that side along with Kevin Crowley, Bucktooth, and Kyle Buchanan who emerged last season.

New England is sure stockpiling roster players. If they get Keogh, it adds to an even more interesting training camp.
