It has always been a saying that a new location can bring on a whole new mentality. However, nobody expected that moving the former Philadelphia organization to New England would create such a massive effect. In the Black Wolves second game on the year, it was New England that claimed a whopping 17-7 victory over 3-time defending champion, Rochester Knighthawks.
It was the Kevin Crowley show at Mohegan, Saturday night. The 26 year old from British Columbia tallied up 10 points off of 6 goals in the team’s second game of the year. “Nobody ever just wakes up and expects this to happen,” Crowley mentioned after the game. “I have to give a lot of credit to guys like Kyle (Buchanan) for nights like this.”
Buchanan contributed to a total of 6 assists during the game while racking up a total of 9 points.
Coach Blane Harrison noted after the game that although he was happy about the victory, he is always focused on the next game. “I’m already thinking about Minnesota and thinking about what they will bring against us.”
Harrison also stated that the majority of the Black Wolves success came through the the lower slot rather than working outside of the perimeter. “That area was open and we took advantage of it. Actually we would ideally work down there. That way our defensive players can get back in transition.”
The Black Wolves next home game is January 24th against the Minnesota Swarm.
