The Baltimore Bombers may be new in 2013, but they already have the most experience in the North American Lacrosse League. Former NLL assistant coach Hunter Francis has the reigns and he has put together a team to be reckoned with.
Goaltending
Ginny Cappichioni has NLL and WLA experience that makes her a valuable commodity to the Bombers in net, with Baltimore being able to put up as good a goaltending performance as anyone in the league night in and night out. They also added Ryan Mason, who has played with the US Developmental Team.
Offense
The Bombers already added Dan Deckelbaum who has played with the Philadelphia Wings and was on the Lehigh Valley Flying Dutchmen last year. They also have James Synoweiz who played with the Jersey Jesters and Lehigh Valley last year.
Also on the offensive side of the ball is Dan Marhol, who played with the NLL’s Minnesota Swarm and Mike Simon of the Chesapeake Bayhawks, both first round picks in last night’s draft.
Andrew Wasik and Chris Boland, who have also played at the pro level, were also selected. Wasik has played with the Wings and Boland was drafted by the Boston Cannons.
Defense
The last overall pick in the entire draft was Shawn Nadelen, a veteran of 11 years in the NLL and most recently with the Philadelphia Wings. His defense will be very important if he plays this season.
Josh Rachmann played with the Boston Rockhoppers last season, and Dan Cocchi has been an all star with the Long Island Lizards and Denver Outlaws.
Baltimore has a roster fueled by veterans of box lacrosse, and they will be one of the most competitive teams in the league in just their first season.
