The Colorado Mammoth finished the 2014 NLL season in the playoffs but they had a lot to improve on the offensive end. They lost Casey Powell midway through the year while Athan Iannucci was very inconsistent.
However, the 2014 NLL draft class is weaker than it has been in recent years, meaning teams will have to rely on veteran players to fill out roster spots, and the Mammoth have three free agent forwards; Powell, Iannucci, and Sean Pollock.
John Grant Jr and Adam Jones make up the left side of that offense, along with restricted free agent Joel Dalgarno, while the three forwards who are unrestricted are rightys.
Colton Clark and Drew Westervelt are the only other rightys signed so the Mammoth need to keep some of them. Once source indicated that if Pollock isn’t signed, Minnesota might make an attempt to sign him. The Swarm are going for an approach with established players instead of draft picks, evidenced by their trade for Alex Turner and trading away the first overall pick.
The Mammoth are awaiting to hear from Powell as to if he will re-sign and that will impact their decision. Powell is having a career year in MLL with the Florida Launch, leading the league in scoring.
Other rightys on the market include Scott Ranger, Jamie Rooney and Corbyn Tao (restricted).
