Last night it was reported by Teddy Jenner of IL Indoor that Buffalo Bandits head coach Darris Kilgour has been relieved of his general manager duties with the Bandits. He will remain the team’s head coach.
Kilgour and the Bandits had a disappointing 2012, going 7-9 and were bounced from the playoffs in the first round by Toronto. Kilgour’s biggest move as GM this season was acquiring goaltender Anthony Cosmo from Minnesota for two first round picks. The Bandits saw a franchise worst six game losing streak this season.
The Bandits will announce a new general manager in the next two weeks, according to the team. Assistant general manager Derek Graham was also let go by the team.
Buffalo is going into next season with one first round pick, and they could see changes. Will John Tavares still be around? Will they keep both Cosmo and Mike Thompson? Will Tracey Kelusky and Kevin Buchanan remain disappointments?
The season is months away, but with the CBA situation, it is hard to make many moves, and the Bandits need to reassess their future.
