After being offered the job as Peterborough Lakers head coach last week, Joe Sullivan says he will accept it.
Last week the Lakers let go of long time head coach Jamie Batley, they offered the job to assist Joe Sullivan, who is currently the head coach of the Minnesota Swarm of the National Lacrosse League.
“I really wrestled with this, probably, more than people will ever realize,” Sullivan told The Petrborough Examiner. “If you’d asked anybody else if they wanted this job it would have been a real quick resounding, yes. But for me, there were friends involved and I wanted them to know what I was battling. They had mixed feelings on it but at the end of the day I have to do what is right for me and my family.”
Sullivan says he will keep assistant coaches Jim Milligan and Bobby Keast. No reason has yet been given for the firing of Batley, who has been with the Lakers for the past ten seasons.
