Kyle Buchanan was played 9 games his rookie season for the Stealth in 2013. Kyle scored 4 G/18A in only 9 games. Last season Buchanan played with the Philadelphia Wings and had an outstanding season registering 23 goals and 46 assists in 18 games.
Buchanan played along side of Kevin Crowley, Tracey Kelusky, and Garrett Thul and Jordan Hall (traded to Rochester) just to name a few. Now the question is without Thul’s strong prescence and Kelusky’s experience will Buchanan be able to duplicate his numbers from last season for the BlackWolves.
Buchanan may only be 5’8″ but he plays like a man who stand over six feet tall. He has proven he can play in the league with the bigger and stronger defensmen, and he has taken plenty of hits and continued to get right up after each one.
The Blackwolves have loaded up with some young talent in the hopes of building a championship. The key to Buchanan’s success will be the pairing of him and Crowley.
If Kevin can avoid another slow start like last season, he will draw alot of attention which will free up Buchanan. Buchanan isnt just a player you feed down low and look to crease dive, he also has a cannon of a shot from up top. You free him up top and allow him to release that shot it could be a long night for opposing goalies while being a fun nigh for Buchanan and his teammates.
This is one of the key components this organization does not want to let go. If this team wants to succeed they need to keep the team together and not do turnover every season.
