It’s the mid way point of the National Lacrosse League season heading into week 10. Who have the best of the best been thus far? Today, we take a look.
Midseason Rookie of the Year has to go to Tyler Digby. Tyler is in some tough competition with rookies this season. He gets my vote as a biased Stealth fan and the fact that he leads all rookies in points this far in the season. Using his size and athleticism of a CFL draftee probably helps out on the turf.
Mid season Goalie of the Year should be Aaron Bold. Tied for wins at six and a league leading 7.97 goals against average it is an easy choice. Starting between the pipes for the NLL leading undefeated Edmonton Rush doesn’t hurt his cause either. Bold is the benefactor, and clear leader of the Rush’s very stingy defense, and it just may lead them to the Champion’s Cup this postseason.
Half way through the season it appears that newly acquired coach Troy Cordingley has the Buffalo Bandits back on track. A year after the league’s worst record in 2013 the Bandits sit atop the Eastern Standings. The chemistry seems to be back on offense with the addition of Ryan Benesch. As well as the patented physical Bandits defense, Toronto’s loss seems to be Buffalo’s gain.
