On Saturday evening the Colorado Mammoth defeated the Minnesota Swarm 11-6 in an exhibition game in Toronto, where both teams held their weekly training camps.
Jordan McBride scored two goals for the Mammoth in the first half while rookie Jaeden Gastaldo scored a transition goal. Jordan MacIntosh of the Swarm also had a goal.
A couple of altercations occurred in the game, including a Jovan Miller elbow to the head of MacIntosh before the half and Rory Smith and Andrew Suitor exchanging words after the game. MacIntosh would sustain a concussion from this.
The Mammoth were without Tye Belanger who is injured, so recently signed free agent Jake Lazore saw some time while the Swarm played Evan Kirk. Kirk allowed just one goal in one quarter. Matt Roik and Chris Levis also suited up for Colorado.
Minnesota played rookie Shayne Jackson and others. Some players, like Callum Crawford, Ryan Benesch and Andrew Suitor, played in only one half each.
Today Minnesota is having their last look at the rookies and walk ons before they begin their next training camp session next week, and they have an exhibition game against the Rochester Knighthawks next week.
