Earlier in the week we took a look at the NCAA fall ball schedule, now we will take a quick look at the MCLA fall ball schedule.
Defending MCLA D2 Champions St. Thomas will be participating in the Lake Front Classic in Kenosha, WI over the weekend of October 5. The same weekend many of the UMLC and GRLC teams will be engaged in either the Madcity Fall Tournament in Madison, WI or Headstrong Minnesota’s Cancer Research Tournament at the Blake School here in Minnesota.
A number of teams around the league will have individual scrimmages, a few have already happened. Indiana took on Purdue earlier this month, while Palm Beach Atlantic took on Florida.
Also occurring in the Midwest in the beginning of November is the second annual Best of the Midwest Tournament which will have MCLA powers like NDSU, St. Johns, and St. Thomas taking on teams like Minnesota and MSU- Mankato.
For the MCLA the fall ball season is much more fluid and a quite a bit more unscheduled for a number of teams. With the teams getting into and dropping out of fall tournaments and scrimmages for all sorts of reasons. With that said fall ball is much more important for MCLA teams, with a number of teams getting new coaches and having to figure out who will actually make the teams. This can be a due or die time for many teams in the MCLA.
