Leading into training camp, we will be taking a look at some non roster invitees who are getting an opportunity to prove themselves.
Rance Vigneux is a goalie out of Toronto and Burlington who went undrafted in 2014. Just before training camps open, the Buffalo Bandits signed the goalie to bring their camp goaltender count to four.
“It’s an amazing feeling to have been signed by the Bandits.” Rance told us. “Since I started playing lacrosse it has been my goal to play professional, being signed by them puts me one step closer to my goal.”
In Jr A last season, where Vigneux split time with the Toronto Beaches and Burlington Chiefs, he put up a goals against average of 10.71 in 14 games.
“Nothing has been mentioned regarding whether I am in line for third string or the backup role.” Vigneux said, since the Bandits also signed Niagara Lock Monsters CLax championship winning goalie Dave DiRuscio. I just know I need to go into camps and work as hard as possible.”
“I feel I can bring a well rounded game in net. I like to be very vocal on the back end to help my defence out as much as possible and make all of our jobs easier.”
