Brandon Miller has missed some time this season; in fact, he hasn’t played a single game in 2014 with his team, the Philadelphia Wings, as there was a holdout situation. He came to terms with them last night and now the Wings have their goalie back. We caught up with him to discuss his return.
Excited to be back with the Wings?
Absolutely, being a Wing has always meant so much to me and my family. It was hard to explain to my five year old why I wasn’t playing for his favorite team.
Did you watch much NLL while you weren’t playing?
I watched just about every second of every game the first two weeks, but it made me miss it too much, so I started catching a few minutes here and there after that.
At any time, did you consider asking for a trade or going to another team?
There was definitely a time where talks had stopped, and I was pretty sure my time was done in Philly.
Do you feel you are still in game shape after the time off?
Timing always feels a bit off after any time away, but I’ve taken summers off between seasons and been able to feel comfortable after a few shooting sessions.
If you’ve watched the Wings, what have you noticed about them as a team so far?
Their defense is very athletic, which we’ve come to expect from Wings teams the past few years. The offense is very balanced, they come at you from all sides of the floor.
