The Ohio Machine open their second game of the 2013 MLL season tonight as they travel to Maryland to play the Chesapeake Bayhawks. The last time these two teams played was in July when the Bayhawks picked up a 11-7 win over the Machine.
Since then the Bayhawks came home as the MLL champions while Ohio finished their first season as a two win team. They are 0-1 to start this season but help is on the way with the college season nearly over. Steele Stanwick is also starting the season with Ohio for the first time, a sure good way to improve the offense early.
Help might be on the way for the Bayhawks as well as they say Casey Powell will be in a Bayhawks uniform in 2013. It won’t be this week, but that’s enough to fire up some players and get them motivated for the next few weeks. John Grant Jr is also in the lineup for the first time this season.
Last week the Bayhawks gave up just three goals to the New York Lizards, so Kip Turner will be hard pressed to repeat his performance, Meanwhile on the Ohio end, it looks like Stefan Schroder will get another start and Scott Rodgers will have to wait to make his season debut.
The Bayhawks, like the Outlaws, have a chance to jump out to an early season lead while the Machine are looking to get off to a better start than in 2012 and compete for the playoffs.
