MLL: Nationals look to improve to 2-0 against Lizards

Tonight the Hamilton Nationals face off against the Long Island Lizards in MLL action. The Nationals are 1-0 on the season while New York is 1-1 on the season.

In Hamilton’s first game this season they defeated the Boston Cannons 15-8. Hamilton struck early and often. Kevin Crowley led the way with four goals with three assists, while Martin Cahill had three goals. Brett Queener was solid in net making 18 saves on 25 shots on net.

The Lizards have split their opening two games by defeating the Boston Cannons 14-11 and losing to Chesapeake  9-3. In the Lizards win against the Cannons Tommy Palasek sparked the offense with his six point performance. The Lizards offense showed their depth against the Cannons as 9 players registered a point in the game. Against Chesapeake the Lizards got embarrassed. Ben Rubeor took control of the game for Chesapeake scoring 7 goals.  The Lizards struggled to score in their game against Chesapeake while goaltender Drew Adams put in a solid performance making 20 saves on 29 shots.

The key for the Nationals will be to get off to another quick start like they did against the Cannons. The Nationals scored five goals in each of the first two quarters and put the Cannons in an early hole. For the Islanders they need to get their scoring going after struggling against Chesapeake. Expect this to be a close game that will come down to the wire but the Nationals should prevail.
