The Denver Outlaws are 10-0, so the real question is who ranks behind them?
1. Denver Outlaws
Plain and simple, the Outlaws are one of the top three best teams in lacrosse history, at least. They are the first MLL team to ever start a season 10-0 and are well on their way to becoming the first ever undefeated team in league history. Their show of complete and utter dominance is unprecedented.
2. Hamilton Nationals
Though the Outlaws are taking all of the headlines, the Nationals are one of the top stories of this season. They missed the 2012 playoffs after going to the 2011 championship game, and now this season they have rebounded to start with a 7-2 record.
3. Chesapeake Bayhawks
The Bayhawks started this season red hot but plummeted later. Right now they sit in third place as one of just three teams over the .500 mark, but lead the Cannons, Hounds and Rattlers by just one game in the standings.
4. Boston Cannons
Boston has really turned things around. Earlier in the season they ranked near last in the rankings and now they are in a playoff position if the season ended today. They have a chance to separate a bit with a game against the Charlotte Hounds tomorrow night.
5. Charlotte Hounds
Charlotte has seen a nice bounce back in their second season in the league at 4-5 and competing for the playoffs. They have a huge game against Boston this week that would put them in sole possession of the fourth seed.
6. Rochester Rattlers
Rochester has gone a bit unnoticed this season, but they are tied with Boston and Charlotte for the fourth playoff seed. As a young team they have seen ups and downs, but their story has mostly been off the field rumors of relocation.
7. New York Lizards
What’s up with the Lizards? They were almost the consensus pick for best team in the league going into 2013, and now they are seventh in the league and 1.5 games back of a playoff spot, and they haven’t been able to score most of the season.
8. Ohio Machine
1-8 on the season and 8.5 games behind Denver but more importantly 3.5 games back of a playoff spot. Need to turn it around soon to have a shot.
