How Many BC Players Go to Vancouver?

The Vancouver Stealth are back in British Columbia, one of the top North American lacrosse hotbeds. Several BC born players play throughout the league, but will they be chomping at the bit to get to Vancouver?Out of all of the players on the Stealth, 12 of them are from British Columbia. Oddly, they also have the second most American players on their roster. This will most likely change now that they are a Canadian team, creating a whole new debate on where the American players will play.

Their BC players are Tyler Garrison, Athan Iannucci, Bob Snider, Lewis Ratcliff, Cliff Smith, Justin Salt, Rhys Duch, Curtis Hodgson, Jeff Moleski, Tyler Richards and Matt Beers. All of those players are impacts to the Stealth, and now with the fly in costs down, they should all be staying around.

The practice squad has BC native goalie Niel Tyacke who now might see more playing time as well, but might have anyways with Matt Roik likely not resigning. But which other BC players might now be wanting to play in their home town?

Curtis Manning with Calgary has had trouble committing to playing due to his job as a doctor and is from Surrey, BC. In fact, Calgary has a lot of players from BC but it’s hard seeing them parting with a Curtis Dickson or Travis Cornwall, who are both not free agents either.

Colton Clark on the Colorado Mammoth could be a piece that could be moved this off season, and as a BC native going to Vancouver would not be surprising. Does Jordan Hall stay with the Philadelphia Wings where he is one of just a very few Canadian players? Corbyn Tao of the Minnesota Swarm might be an odd man out season as well.

The player being talked about the most in this category is Garrett Billings of the Toronto Rock, who is a Langley native along with Kyle Belton on their roster. It’s hard to speculate, but don’t be surprised to see several BC natives being shipped to the Stealth.
