The MLL season is officially over after crowning the Denver Outlaws MLL Champions for the first time in franchise history. The culmination in the season also means that every rookie in the league has completed their first season in the MLL. Some performed better than others throughout and as teams started their respective playoff runs, here were how each rookie performed in both victory and defeat.
Denver Outlaws
Jeremy Noble was pretty quiet overall in both games for the Outlaws in terms of the box score. However, his game isn’t based purely on statistics as he was instrumental in playing SSDM for the Outlaws. Brent Hiken went 5-15 on faceoffs in the two games for the Outlaws and had two ground balls in the victory over the Lizards. Colin Dunster made his only appearance for the Outlaws versus the Lizards and he had three ground balls and one shot on goal.
New York Lizards
Joe Fletcher had three ground balls in the loss to the Outlaws while playing some solid team defense. He was a nice addition to the defense this season and should only get better with a full year of offseason training under his belt.
Rochester Rattlers
Jordan Wolf had the best performance of any rookie in the MLL playoffs as he had seven points in both games for the Rattlers. He registered five points in the semifinal win over the Ohio Machine and had a goal and an assist against the Outlaws. Miles Thompson also had a big game against the Machine as he had four points but was limited to one point in the championship game. Mark Cockerton had a goal in the win over the Machine and had a goal and an assist in the loss to the Outlaws in the championship game. Finally, John LoCascio totaled five ground balls in the two games for the Rattlers and had a shot on goal. Ohio Machine
