1. Lyle Thompson, Albany Great Danes
Attack- By far the consensus top pick in the draft and also an obvious pick for the Florida Launch. One of the famous Thompsons, Lyle might actually be the best of them all. Lyle has an opportunity to play with stars like Casey Powell and 2014 rookie of the year Kieran McArdle.
2. Wes Berg, Denver Pioneers
Attack- Berg is another star attackman coming out of Denver after players like Eric Law and Jeremy Noble. Another indoor-lacrosse playing Canadian, it would have made sense for him to end up with the Outlaws, but the second pick belongs to Florida. Possible trade?
3. Jesse King, Ohio State Buckeyes
Midfield- Another Canadian indoor player and the star of the Buckeyes roster. King would almost be a perfect fit with the Machine out of Ohio State, but really, any team would be likely to have him.
4. John Glesener, Army Black Knights
Attack- Glesener could go anywhere from second overall to Florida to ninth overall to Denver. He’s a terrific player who scored 43 goals last season with the ‘Knights. He’s another Army guy so after 2016 it’s unpredictable how much he will play.
5. Erik Adamson, Denver Pioneers
Midfield- Two Denver players will be top picks in 2015, and Adamson is one of them. He could fall out of the first round, but it’s not likely; his performance in the 2014 season and playoffs have officially put him on the map. He might just go low enough for the Outlaws to snag him.
6. Connor Buczek, Cornell Big Red
Midfield- Other than King and maybe Adamson, top midfielder in the draft. Scored 30 goals with 17 assists last season. He has a very high value right now, so don’t be surprised to see him go as early as the second overall pick.
7. Randy Staats, Syracuse Orange
Attack- Scorer of 56 points in the 2015 season, he would have contended as the top pick in the draft if not for an injury history that includes and ACL. When he plays, he’s terrific, and if healthy should sign wherever he goes.
8. Chad Tutton, UNC Tar Heels
Midfield- In the top ten alone, there are three Canadians on this list. Tutton is one of them, and he is another one of the Tar Heel stars making their way into the pro ranks. 23 goals speak for themselves, and he should get playing time right away.
9. Wells Stanwick, Hopkins Blue Jays
Attack- 44 assists last season. That goes along with 23 goals, but the assists are unbelievable. He’s not quite Steele, but he’s a pro level player for certain. 67 points in one season is terrific for any player.
10, Joey Sankey, UNC Tar Heels
Attack- Sankey is a part of a North Carolina offense that will see three high draft picks. His 33 goals and 24 assists are at an elite level and he’s underrated for being a smaller player. He should still be either a first rounder or very early second round.
