After all the reports earlier last week, this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Recently released North Carolina Tar Heel Nick Galasso has transferred to play for the Syracuse Orange.
Almost as soon as Galasso was granted his requested release from North Carolina, he began speaking with Syracuse, creating rumors that he would end up with the Orange, as he has.
Galasso will be a sophomore this season after putting up 56 points in his freshman year to lead the Tar Heels in scoring.
As part of an agreement on Galasso’s release, he was not allowed to go to an ACC squad or a team on the North Carolina 2013 schedule. Syracuse does not play the Tar Heels in 2013, but it should be noted that Syracuse will become an ACC school along with Pittsburgh (in sports other than lacrosse for the Panthers) in 2014, but that does not affect this transfer.
