Essex traveled to and beat Genesse 12-11 this past weekend. In a very close game which put the third seed vs. the fourth in our preseason rankings. For Genesse John Jimerson had (2G,1) and Jimmy Smith (1G,2A). Freshman Alex Henry had two goals and Jacob Bomberry finished (1G,1A). Goalie Corey Luty made fifteen saves in his first colligate game. Essex got a big transfer Julian Jackson from Harford CC Julian scored a goal vs. GCC to get him his fifth point in two games. While Mount Saint Mary’s Commit Cam Stone had three points (2G,1A).
After having their Saturday game vs. Cecil called off Potomac State came out vs. Southern Maryland and scored twenty-one goals on them to get their second straight win in their first two games as a program. It was a 21-13 game Shane Thompson had (9G,3A) while Blake Curry (6G,4A) and Tommy Scanlan (6G,3A). Also Nelson Tarrant had four assists.
Northern Virginia beat Harford 17-16 in a 2OT game Harford was nationally ranked so this is a huge win for the NOVA program. Laron Hinton had seven points Zach Hart had eight. For Harford Jeremy Scranton and Andrew Lebrun each had seven points while Mike Cooke had six.
Herkimer got beat 18-2 to start their season but look to get back on track the rest of the way. Second year starting attackman out of Ohio Kyle Lee sent some pictures of Herkimer’s new gloves for this spring.
