NLL: Rush Look for Revenge Against Swarm

The Edmonton Rush fell at home to the Minnesota Swarm on Friday night, and today they face the Swarm again in St. Paul as they look for revenge.

Minnesota is likely without their star defender Andrew Suitor who suffered a knee injury on Friday night. However, they do have Callum Crawford back who picked up seven assists against the Rush on Friday night.

Edmonton needs points from their rookies Curtis Knight and Mark Matthews, who had a combined two points and just one goal last game. Minnesota did a nice job containing them, but without Suitor, that’ll be a lot tougher.

Evan Kirk played great in net and Aaron Bold didn’t have a bad game for the Rush. Edmonton did get over 50 shots though, including 14 from Matthews with just a single goal. They need to find a way to get those in the net.

There were very few penalties in last game and neither team scored a power play goal. We can expect maybe something a little bit different in this game, so both special teams units should be prepared.

Matthews leads the NLL in goals so expect some impact from him tomorrow as he tries to rebound from that tough game Friday. He also leads the league in shots on goal. Defender Kyle Rubisch leads the league with 20 forced turnovers, so watch for him as well.

Minnesota doesn’t have anyone in the top five in scoring except for Ryan Benesch and his 25 assists. They need to continue to get the ball in the net to win, and Edmonton needs to find a way to execute.
