Only one game of action in week one of the National Lacrosse League, but it was a tight game between Washington and Rochester as we present to you our three stars of the week.
Cliff Smith- Washington
Smith led all scorers with eight points in the win as he picked up a hat trick and had five assists. Smith already had his hat trick locked up by the middle of the second quarter.
Athan Iannucci- Washington
Scoring the game winning goal with 1:23 left for the Stealth, he was named the game MVP in Washington. Iannucci kicked off his first full season in Washington with a performance of two goals and ten shots on net, second on the team.
Johnny Powless- Rochester
Powless took two shots in the game for the Knighthawks and scored both times along with three helpers in the loss. He scored the last Knighthawks goal with less than two minutes left to tie the game before Washington took the lead 30 seconds later.
