Octane Won’t Play Playoffs, One MILA Game This Week

The Pittsburgh Octane tweeted this week that they will not be able to participate in the MILA playoffs due to not getting enough player commitments and not having the financial resources to play.

Meanwhile, the Grand Rapids Dragonfish and Colorado Sabertooths ended their seasons undefeated. This weekend will be MILA exhibition weekend with several exhibition lacrosse games.

There is one more regular season game, with the Dragonfish playing Southern Ohio Box Lacrosse. The game between the Minnesota Jaxx and Milwaukee Marauders was cancelled, so it is unknown if the Dragonfish game will even be played.

The league has not yet announced their official playoff teams with the playoffs set to begin on October 6th. There are semi finals, so four teams will be in; Colorado and Grand Rapids already are.

Pittsburgh finished in second to Grand Rapids, so the next best team is the Columbus Lacrosse Club. It looks like they are the other playoff team. The second place team in the Central Division was the Chicago Outlaws.
