The Denver Outlaws are already the first MLL team to ever start a season 12-0, but today when they face the New York Lizards they have a chance at even more history. Never as an MLL team gone an entire season undefeated, and the Outlaws appear inclined to be the first. They battle the 3-8 Lizards who have already been eliminated from playoff contention.
The Outlaws have nothing to play for, already clinching the league’s top seed, but they have a goal to finish the season 14-0. Last time these two teams played was on July 4th when the Outlaws won 16-7.
The Lizards have lost five straight games as they try to rebound for next season, despite having a very strong roster and being projected as a top team before the season.
For the Outlaws, they are led by potential MVP Chris Bocklet and last season’s MVP Brendan Mundorf. The Lizards are led by rookie of the year candidate Rob Pannell and Mark Matthews, and the two goalies facing off are the two previous goalie of the year winners.
With a win the Outlaws will be the first MLL team to ever win 13 games, and they will then get a chance to battle for perfection against Hamilton next week. This game starts at 5pm on CBS Sports Network.
