Yesterday the Chicago Outlaws won a thrilling game in overtime to send the Grand Rapids Dragonfish packing as they advanced to the CILL Champions Cup, where they will face the Colorado Sabertooths.
The first game of the day was between the Outlaws and the host team Grand Rapids Dragonfish. The ‘Fish led by one goal at the half but in the second half of the game the Outlaws pulled back and took the game into overtime. Zack Dorn scored the game winning goal for Chicago.
The game between the Colorado Sabertooths and Pittsburgh Octane was not nearly as close, with the Sabertooths taking the game by a 7-1 margin. Pittsburgh was down on several players and had to invite a few players from the Detroit team.
Colorado is the defending league champion while the Outlaws are one of the most stacked teams in the league with Dorn, former MLL player Adam Hughes and top goaltender Desmond Bailey. Meanwhile, the Sabertooths host former NLLers Dan Finck and Kevin Tait along with Colorado Mammoth practice squad player Alex Demopolous.
Game time today is at 2pm and will determine the winner of the Continental Indoor Lacrosse League championship.
