Week six in the NLL saw wins from Washington, Rochester (twice), Calgary and Minnesota. In those games several stars shone, but we have the top three. Tyler Richards, Washington Stealth/Matt Vince, Rochester Knighthawks Richards had the best game of any NLL goaltender this season on Saturday night, when he stopped 51 Colorado shots out of 57. It is the second week in a row Richards has allowed seven goals or…

The first weekend of NCAA Men’s lacrosse is in the books, providing both thrillers and blow outs. We saw a lot of firsts with High Point getting their first win in program history and Bryant taking Colgate into overtime. It was an exciting weekend of lacrosse at every division. In division 1 contests, High Point University, the new kid on the block, went 1-2 overall. First losing to Delaware 12-10…
Mammoth Succeeding with Roik Between the Pipes (For Now)
The Colorado Mammoth went into the 2013 season with a tough goaltender situation, with veteran Chris Levis coming in as the starter and Matt Roik as the backup. Roik had been coming off a terrible season starting with the Toronto Rock while their other backup Tye Belanger is out with a knee injury. Colorado resigned Dan Lewis who had played in a few minutes of action last season, but Roik…

Komer Blog: Blizzard Fall to Brampton
I was supposed to get the day off on Saturday. Derek Collins played well as my relief in our previous game (when I somehow ended up in net as a ghost), so he got the nod for Saturday’s game against Brampton. I suppose a different way to look at it is that I was blessed with the opportunity to run the one door on the bench. A few problems there……

A slow start by Niagara had them trailing 7-1 in the second quarter and the Monsters were unable to recover from…
NLL Power Rankings: Calgary the New Kings
What an exciting weekend of lacrosse action. If this past weekend doesn’t prove that the 2013 NLL season is packed with excitement each week, nothing will! We have a new #1, the defending champions sweep there weekend road games and played like the team that won the title last year. The Battle of Alberta was just that, as the Rush stayed with the Roughnecks for 60 minutes. The Swarm sting…

Hopkins Gets First Win Over Siena; High Point Gets First Ever Win
John Hopkins controlled Siena through out the course of the game; midway through the third quarter, Hopkins scored 4 goals in a span of 3 minutes to secure their lead. Give credit to Siena, in the first half, they had figured out how to stop the Hopkins scoring attack. They did this by slowing up the pace of the game. Siena did not let Hopkins gets into their offensive strategy….
