According to Steve Bermel of IL Indoor, the Buffalo Bandits have traded for forward Derek Hopcroft of the Colorado Mammoth. According to the report, they give up a conditional fifth round draft pick.
As Hopcroft is a right handed shooter, this could be another sign that the Bandits will not be signing Luke Wiles. They already picked up Aaron Wilson from Edmonton, but Hopcroft could just be more proof that they are moving away from Wiles.
Hopcroft scored 26 points in 11 games for the Mammoth last season. In 2011, his rookie year, he scored three points in three games with the Calgary Roughnecks.
For the Mammoth, they are already very deep on the right side with Gavin Prout, Sean Pollock and Jordan McBride, who had a fantastic first session of camp with the Mammoth on Saturday.
Stay tuned to In Lacrosse We Trust for more details on this trade as they emerge and become official.
