According to reports, the Canadian Lacrosse Association has indefinitely suspended Langley Thunder head coach Rod Jensen for his actions during the doping testing during the Mann Cup.
The biggest story during Canada’s national lacrosse championship was the doping testing for both teams, and the coaches of both the Thunder and the Peterborough Lakers had been suspended for the entire Mann Cup before being reinstated.
The Thunder lost in the Mann Cup to the Lakers in six games, with Jensen on the bench for all of them. After an investigation, the CLA has found Jensen in violation of CLA code. Here is the league statement, via Inside Lacrosse-
“Rod Jensen, head coach of the Langley Thunder has been immediately and indefinitely suspended by the CLA President, Joey Harris, from all lacrosse activities in Canada, pending the results of the CLA discipline process.
Â
This suspension relates to Mr Jensen’s conduct off/on the floor during the Mann Cup, including his conduct following the final game 6. Â
Â
All members of the CLA are to conduct themselves in accordance with the bylaws, regulations, code of conduct, and rules of the organization, and Mr. Jensen has been found, by the President, to be in violation of these. Given this is a discipline matter no further comment will be made.â€
