“Nick Rose, he forced this whole trade,” according to Coquitlam Adanacs head coach Bob Salt, who is not very happy about the trade that has uprooted the Adanacs and filled out the Langley Thunder’s roster.“I’ve got no use for that kind of mentality. How do you tell kids in Coquitlam that there’s greener grass elsewhere, so you quit?” says Salt to the Now News in Coquitlam. Rose was the 2012 WLA MVP and has already stated he will play on the MSL’s Oakville Rock next season.
Salt says that Rose convinced the other players to accept the trade. “It’s sickening. [Rose] had the balls to say he only wanted this trade to make the Adanacs better… It all came out after we tied Langley (last Wednesday). Rosey said we can’t win and ‘I want out,’ and took three guys with him. I was just shocked at that attitude.”
Salt also says it is because all three of the players traded are going to Ontario next season and they have transferred rights of three other players to MSL.
“Adam Shute is the guy. Losing Rosey makes a difference but you don’t want that kind of attitude around, it’s infectious. Players start to think they’re bigger than the game.”
Rose played junior lacrosse in Orangeville and has played in the NLL with Boston and Calgary and is currently the starting goaltender with the Toronto Rock. The Thunder and Adanacs do not play each other again this season, but if they meet in the playoffs it could be an all timer.
