This is actually pretty crazy to think about, I never thought I’d even make it this far in lacrosse. Now I’m getting to play with players from all over the world. I heard that Russia was going to compete in the World Lacrosse Championship this year and being an American-born Russian descendent I felt this was a great opportunity.
I met up with the team out here in Denver and after a couple practices and scrimmages we’re coming together. We have a variety of skill levels and great to see the team taking shape.
We’ve gotten to scrimmage against Poland and Switzerland already as we prepare to duke it out in the Plum Division against Wales, New Zealand and Argentina.
It’s an incredible feeling being able to represent a country and it’s people at the world games, it’s something I wouldn’t trade for anything. With us being a new team we’re looking for all the support we can get.
Please support team Russia and follow us on twitter (@russia_lacrosse) and on Instagram (russia_lacrosse).
