A few months ago, I originally announced a new idea, the InLax Lacrosse League. We ran into a few road blocks along the way, but I am glad to announce that we here on the new site we are moving ahead with the project! Marisa and I have been working behind the scenes for a while, and we are ready to move ahead. Here are the details.
There are 24 teams in the league, based in cities that were voted on by readers. From there, Marisa and I split up the teams and named each of them. In the coming weeks we will announce the team names as well as the team information. We have also drafted rosters with players from all the professional leagues, including the NLL, MLL, PLL, NALL, WLA, MSL, as well as the LXM Pro and some players that are currently not playing. That being said the league is a box league, so most of the prominent box players were selected first.
One of the most exciting aspects of the league is the graphic design that is involved. Pictured is the league logo, designed by former member of the team Dan Shirley. The logos for the teams have been designed by some of the best graphic designers on the internet, many of which professionals. The logos will be unveiled with the teams, and we will have features of the designers on the site. It will give them a chance to talk a little about the designs that they did and their other work in the field of graphic design.
What are our plans for our own fantasy lacrosse league? As of now that is not set in stone. Its just a fun little side project that puts the power in our own hands. Including you, the readers, has always been my focus. Tell me what you think we should do, where we should go with the project. In my eyes, its really just a fun way to imagine what the world of lacrosse would look like if it was mainstream.
If you’re interested in the design, it is not too late to get involved. About half the teams are accounted for right now, but there are still many teams that are in need of a logo. If you’re interested please contact me at jackgoods@ymail.com. Coming later this week we take a look at our first featured team, the Winnipeg Prarie Dogs.
The InLax Lacrosse League is a fictional league created by Jack Goods and Marisa Ingemi. It features 24 teams in various locations across the U.S. and Canada. It features players from all the major lacrosse outlets, as a way of showing what the lacrosse world would look like if lacrosse was one of the major sports in North America.
